Yachts in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
After years of research, we discovered and fell in love with Hylas Offshore
Yachts. Hylas Yachts is owned and operated by the Jachney family of
Marblehead, Massachusetts. The Hylas is built by the Huang family of Queen
Long Marine, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Aquila is hull #49 of the Hylas 49

thruster. The hull is awl-gripped dark blue with gold cove stripe and red
boot stripe, with teak rubrail. The deck is beige non-skid fiberglass, with varnished teak
handholds. At the stern, teak steps serve as a dive
platform, with storage and a fresh-water shower underneath. A fresh water
shower is also installed in the cockpit.
Belowdecks are 3 private staterooms (one queen aft, one double V-berth, one
double portside) and 2 heads, one with a separate shower stall. A washer/dryer is
installed below the double berth in the forward port cabin. In the main
saloon is a teak dinette table with a bamboo inlay of the Aquila logo. The
starboard settee pulls out to become a wide pilot berth. The port-facing
navigation station has an adjustable swing-out chair, and office storage.
The interior is primarily teak, with teal ultrasuede upholstery. The
"alley" galley countertops are Wahlee stone, a corian-like material.
The sole is teak and holly, with all portable pieces having stainless steel
lock-down devices to prevent dislodging in the event of a roll.
